Let’s get that party started!
There is so much going on. On Monday he will have a tele-visit with a doctor so they can get him scheduled for the biopsy of the mass in his abdomen and on May 9 he will have a PET scan. He has already had a Chest CT, a Brain MRI and a NM Whole Body scan.
•The much anticipated treatment has begun. Bow had his first immunotherapy treatment yesterday, 4/27. He will have this treatment of a combination of 2 drugs every 3 weeks for 4 treatments. After the 3rd treatment they will do another PET scan to compare to see if there has been any improvement since the fist PET scan. As long as they can see improvement they will continue the immunotherapy treatment but will use only 1 drug every 2 weeks thereafter for as long as he needs and/or wants them. If they are working why in the world would he not want them?! Since his treatment yesterday he has not had any side effects and we are hopeful that continues to be the case. While these side effects aren’t anything like chemotherapy they would still be annoying. We are anxious to start seeing the improvement, especially to the shrinking of the mass in his abdomen which is the one that is causing him pain and discomfort.
