Round 4 complete + Good News!

Fighting this battle and Round 4 is complete!

Great news from the doctor today! LDH Cancer Markers are in the normal range! They started very, very high at 648 and they are now 188. He says that all his labs look good which seems like the treatments are working. We are so excited. This was the last treatment with the 2 drugs, Opdivo and Yervoy. He will have a PET Scan and a Brain MRI on July 24 and that will tell us more. His next treatment will be on July 27 and will only be Opdivo moving forward and those will be every 4 weeks and considered “maintenance”. Doctor said the goal will be to have those for about 2 years then hopefully be able to stop them. He will have PET Scans about every 3 months to make sure the maintenance treatments are continuing to work. We sure have come a long way since we started this battle but it sure feels good to be on the top! We sure love each of you. We so appreciate all the thoughts and prayers and know that we have come this far because of it. We could not have done this alone. Although the fight is not over we will continue to beat this. He is also off all his pain medications and pretty much off the oxygen. He only needs the oxygen when he is doing to much since he still gets winded very easily. Any task he has to take very slow, rest a while then do a little more. Hopefully that will get better one day. 

We had family pictures done while the kids were in town. It was awesome to have all 6 kids, their spouses and 11 grandkids. A BiG shout out to Robyn for these pictures. While we were rushing to beat the unexpected severe storm that was rolling in she didn’t miss a beat, or a picture.
